About Dr. Wellman
Andrew Wellman, M.D., is an orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience in hip and knee replacement surgery, sports and occupational injuries. Dr. Wellman is skilled at performing the robotically assisted MAKO Partial Knee Resurfacing procedure as well as the MAKO Total Hip procedure. Dr. Wellman earned his medical degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, Conn. Dr. Wellman was trained in general orthopaedics and completed a residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, Calif. He trained at Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in St. Louis, Mo. and served as chief resident for pediatric orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Wellman is an adjunct assistant professor-division of clinical education at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Ariz. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Wellman serves as an orthopaedic surgeon on the medical staff at the Comprehensive Orthopedic and Spine Center in Mountain Vista Medical Center. He is currently accepting new patients at Mountain Vista Orthopaedic Specialists, located in the medical office building adjacent to Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz. Mountain Vista Orthopaedic Specialists accepts most insurance plans and offers same-day appointments.
